Stubby Clapp Day.

- The Memphis Redbirds are retiring the jersey of fan favorite, Windsor Ontario's very own, Stubby Clapp on April 21st. It's quite a credit to his personality and work ethic that a 2nd baseman who hit .269 for Memphis over 4 years is receiving such an honor. He also starred on the '04 Canadian Olympic team and for the Windsor Stars (the best amateur organization in Canada) midget and juvenile teams that beat my teams on a regular basis. The little shit.

- I think Jeremy Roenick is a great fit for TSN's plyoff crew. He his not very self aware, dumb and has a big mouth. He will be very entertaining and a natural now that is all but officially done as a gutless loser NHL player.

Is Tie Domi still on TSN's payroll? I haven't seen him in quite a while.

Good Question. He may be the new VP of Product Development at Magna.

There is an interesting story on Tie Domi in next month's Toronto Life. He seems to come across as someone very concerned with is image. Also a but of a vanity case.

Actually, another good story on Tim Horton's family and their battle with Ron Joyce over their share of the donut empire by Stephen Brunt. Brunt is hands down the best sports journalist in Canada.

Yeah, so I wrote that hungover... meant to say "his image" and "bit of a vanity case"

Also "another good story from the magazine"

Sorry lads.

Brunt is the best writer when writing about the business of sports. He knows very little about hockey and absolutely nothing about baseball.

The only two baseball writers in Canada worth a damn are Bill Ellioot of the Sun and Jeff Blair.

Perhaps, but he is the first one to say when something isn't his beat. He doesn't claim to be an expert. Has he ever written about Baseball? His strength is that he acts like journalist, not a glorified jock sniffer. Much like Michael Farber when he still wrote for the Gazette.

Agree on Jeff Blair. Best baseball writer I read.

I agree about Brunt. He has written a lot about baseball in the past.

It's funny about Farber. I like him in SI but can't stand him on The Reporters Sunday mornings on TSN. I think he's just too impressed with himself.
