The Colts are the '04 Red Sox Lite.

The Indianapolis Colts knocking off their annual tormenter the New England Patriots was like a lite (as in lite beer) version of the Red Sox beating their annual tormenters the Yankees in '04. I say lite version because the Red Sox - Yanks rivalry runs for a hundred years not five.

Think about it - the Sox could never get by the Yanks just like the Colts could never get by the Pats. The Yanks were up three games to none against the Sox and lost. The Colts were down 21-3, the football equivalent of being down three games to none, and made the biggest comeback in conference championship game history. And now the Colts go to the Super Bowl like they have already won just like the Sox went to the World Series so anticlimactically. I expect the Colts to steamrole the Bears to finish it off.

Other notes from that game:

- How does Pats WR Rashae Caldwell feel today? He dropped a wide open touchdwon pass in the end zone then later the Colts didn't even line up against him, he calls for the ball and drops another wide open pass. Tom Brady must want to kick the shit out of him.

- How sour did Bill Belichick look in that post game interview? The guy really does have no class. That interview was patheitc. The best thing about the Pats losing is that I don't have to see him standing on the sidelines in the Super Bowl dressed like a homeless guy.
