Webber, Becks, Wie and Allen.

- Now that Chris Webber has been bought out by the 76ers he says he wants to play for a contender (Why do guys say this? Isn't it kind of obvious? Who would come out and say they want to play for the Bobcats or Grizzlies?). I think the Lakers are a perfect fit for Webber. I have watched about 8 of their games this year (thank you Raptor Channel) and they are legit. All they need is a big man with go dhands and excellent passing skills. That is the primary need of the triangle offense and Webber fits that description to a tee. He is no longer dominant but he is still good for 14 and 7 a night and if the Lakers are to make a serious run in the playoffs they will need someone who can match up with Amare Stoudamire or Tim Duncan.

- I don't believe for a second that David Beckham got $252 million over 5 years to play soccer in LA. If he did then it has to be the dumbest contract in the history of sports.

- Now that Michelle Wie has played poorly at the Sony Open there will be crying from the players that she shouldn't be playing. I would argue that the players should realize she is there on a sponsors exemption and that as long as Sony is paying the prize purse and trying to put asses in the seats they can invite whoever the hell they want to play. If that means asking Carrot Top to play so be it. They pay pay the bills. The PGA has major problems getting press for tournaments that both Phil and Tiger skip and without Wie there we wouldn't be talkng about this tournament at all. Players need to remember that.

- Poor Tony Allen. He was having a pretty good year for the Celtics than goes up for a meaningless dunk after a whistle, blows out his knee and misses the rest of the year.
