Bob Knight and the NFL Coaching Carousel.

- A belated congratulations to Bob Knight on becoming the all time winningest coach in college basketball history. Knight can be a complete bully and ass most of the time but I actually have a lot of respect for him. He has always ran clean programs and has never once even had anyone suggest that he has broken NCAA rules. He also graduates his players which is very impressive in this day and age and should never go unacknowledged. He is also the best game coach I have ever seen in the college game. I don't think him breaking the record at Texas Tech diminishes it in any way because he would have broken it had he stayed at Indiana.

A quick story about Knight. He had the best quote of all time to put down the always self important main stream media. A news reporter (not a sports reporter) was doing a piece on him once and was asking stupid question after stupid question then asked Knight why he hated the media. He said "We all learn to read and write by the second grade. Most of us move on to bigger things." Classic.

- Who in their right mind would take the vacant coaching job of the Arizona Cardinals? As long as the Bidwells own this team they will never do anything. Now that the Clippers are actually half decent the Cards are the worst franchise in sports. The sad thing is all they really need to win their awful division is a couple of decent offensive lineman and a cover guy in the secondary. I can't see why Pete Carroll, as has been rumoured, would ever leave USC, especially for this mess.

- I'm also not sure who will want the Falcons job. I sure wouldn't want my fate in the hands of Michael Vick. Vick is not only dumb but also unbelievably lazy. He'll never win anything and will go down as the single most overrated player in NFL history.

- The Steelers job has to be the most appealing. You have a very good team already in place, fantastic football city and fans, and patience and loyalty from the owner. Sure they are cheap and don't want to pay their coach as much as other teams, but knowing you can stay there as long as you want has to be worth a lot.

- The Bengals need to fire Marvin Lewis as their coach. I'm sorry but 8-8 doesn't cut it anymore in Cincy. Not with the talent they have at the skill positions. They were terrible down the stretch and looked unprepared in every game in December. He also has no control over his team as evidenced by the fact that half of them have been thrown in jail over the last year.
