World Series Preview.

Now and then you get a football game they call a "trap game". Like the Colts or Pats going up against the hopeless Rams or Dolphins and you think they may somehow lose. The World Series is kind of a "trap" series for the Red Sox because nobody thinks they can lose. It's not so much that people think the Sox are unbeatable as they just think the Rockies run of 21 of 22 and seven straight in the playoffs is about to run out and they are not that good.

After beating a Phillies team with a great lineup, one probably better than the Sox, and then beating a DBacks team with deep pitching and defense, the Rockies are definitely for real. Jeff Francis is the best ace you have never heard of (unless you are Canadian) and the middle of their lineup is brutally tough to face. The big problem for Francis is that he has to go against legend in the making Josh Beckett in Games 1 and 5. I say they split those two games. But Schilling is still Schilling and the Sox staff is deeper. Schill will win twice. Dice K will get ripped in the mountain air so that gives Colorado another win - there only other win. And yes, I am very jealous that Diamond Joe gets to rip it up in LoDo during games 3&4 in Denver.

Red Sox in 6 which means the Sox get to clinch in Fenway this time.

Well I won't be livin' it up at the game but I will be downtown right by the stadium. I'd like to see CO win but that just ain't going to happen in spite of Manny "Gold Glove" Ramirez making about 6 errors in 5 games. I can't wait to see the ball sail over his head in Denver. Too bad that cocky dumbass will end up with another ring. If I have to watch that guy toss his bat or stare at his home runs, or in some cases, doubles of the wall, I'm going to lose it.

You didn't have the pleasure of having NESN like I did all year. I got to watch not only Manny in left field but Willy Mo Pena in center field until they mercifcully traded Willy Mo. He made Manny look like a Gold Glover. If he was still around and the two of them were in the outfield during the playoffs every Sox fan would be having a heart attack.

Manny may be a cocky dumb ass but he is also one of the two or three best hitters of the last 20 years. The guy is an absolute machine. The batter's box is the only place in the world where he concentrates 100% all the time. It's beautiful to watch. For that I can put up with the fact that he treats left field as nothing more than a place to stand between at bats.
