End of Week Ramblings.

- I've always said the biggest problem with municipal politics in Ottawa is never the Mayor (I though Bob Chiarelli was a pretty good Mayor) but all the loonies on council. Now Alex Cullen wants to ban trans fats from every restaurant in the city. Surely to God council in this city has far more important things to worry about. Silliness like this is one of the reasons this city can't ever outgrow it's hicktown status.

- When I said ARod was a lock for the AL MVP this year I sure as hell didn't think he would have 10 HR's, 24 RBI's and 2 walk offs in the first 14 games. He is going to put up Nintendo numbers this year if he doesn't get hurt. And the Yanks will need all of it because with Mike Mussina on the DL their starting pitching is in deep shit. The series at Fenway this weekend will be awesome with the Yanks facing Schill, Beckett and Dice K.

- Now I'll admit that the typical 11 or 12 year old girl could test the patience of Job, but I think Alec Baldwin went over the line calling his daughter "a little pig". I can see her reaming him out over not calling him back but it din;t need to get that ugly. And don't be too hard on Alec, it has to be frustrating when your ex-wife is doing everything possible to keep you away from your kids.

- Note to Sens fans, who are becoming even more hysterical than Leaf fans, Your team is no farther yet than they were last year. Don't go planning any parades yet.

- Happy 35th birthday to Carmen Electra who looks a hell of a lot older than that after relationships with Dave Navarro and Dennis Rodman.

- With Ice Cube's new movie Are We Done Yet? released recently, I started wondering what his old NWA running mate Eazy-E, singer of such gloriously filthy songs as Gimme That Nutt, would think about Cube's family friendly movies of late. But then again if Eazy was alive today he may have been starring in a family sitcom with Bea Arthur so who the hell knows.
