McGwire Comes Clean.

No pun intended on that headline either. So Mark McGwire has finally admitted to using steroids for years. After the humiliation he suffered after wussing out in front of congress this hardly even qualifies as a story, which is why my commentary here is brief.

Now that he is the hitting coach for the Cardinals he had to do this now or else it would have been hanging over the team from the 1st day of spring training. So in that sense he is only admitting it because the cards probably told him too. Either way this should be out of the news in about three days.

It will. At least McGuire admitted it. I buy his story about wanting to come clean but congress wouldn't grant him immunity. No hall for him though.

I don't nuy it about immunity. It's not like they were going to put him in prison if he came clean without immunity. I am also 100% certain that he did 'roids with Canseco.

I always thought McGwire was the most overrated player I had ever seen. The only thing he did was hit home runs (granted he did that amazingly well and warrant H of F consideration). He didn't hit for average, had no speed, hit very few doubles for a guy with his power and was bad defensively. And people still made him out to be one of the 5 best players of his era.
