NB.A Conference Finals

I went 3-1 in the second round for an overall record of 8-4. The conference finals are pretty easy though.

Western Conference

San Antonio Spurs (3) vs. Utah Jazz (5)

Although this should have been a second round matchup, this is still a good conference final because I think Utah can make a series of it. Carlos Boozer has been outstanding so far for the Jazz and he should continue to play well. His numbers won't be as good because he is matched up against Tim Duncan, the best pwer forward in history, but he will hold his own. Deron Williams is also better equipped to handle Spurs guard Tony Parker than Steve Nash was which will slow the Spurs. The biggest problem for the Jazz though is that the Spurs are so good defensively they will have trouble socring aginst them over a full series. I expect the Spurs to want to play in the 80's and smother the Jazz.

Eastern Conference

Detroit Pistons (1) vs. Cleveland Cavaliers (2)

You would think a 1 vs 2 would be a good series but this won't be. The Pistons are going to win and it will never be in doubt. But it still may go seven games. Or four. There is no in between because as the Pistons showed against the Bulls they have an awful tendency to get bored and fall asleep for enitre games at a time. They only reason I think they may actually sweep the Cavs is because the Cavs have been sleepwalking all year and LeBron James has looked very average in the first two series taken as a whole. He is great one game and mails in the next. The Pistons are deeper, can score easier and much better defensively than the Cavs, but they are going to fall asleep again. That's why I think this will be the a seven game series that will never be in doubt.

Pistons in 7.
