Happy 2008 To All!

I hope everybody had a great holiday season. Apologies for the long vacation but Ms. Skeelo and I needed some time to unwind and not think of anything too strenuous.

- It's pretty hard to argue that the NHL's outdoor Winter Classic yesterday was not a success. There were over 71,000 fans in attendance and at least another 812 watched it in on TV. Maybe Gary Bettman should wake up and figure out that Americans watch bowl games on New Year's Day and not hockey. At any rate I think they should do this once a year in February in places like Minnesota or Detroit.

- After the Detroit Lions fell back to their station by finishing the season 1-7 does anybody still think Matt Millen should be employed as an NFL GM?

- The GST fell to 5% yesterday. Don't spend it all in one place. Or to put it another way, Big Fuckin' Deal. I would like some real tax relief this year but Harper has already stated it isn't coming.
