Fuck You CRTC!

The problems with the Canadian entertainment industry are myriad and worthy of about 6000 words on this site (which may actually happen next week as next week is the single slowest work week of the year). But one of the single biggest problems is the ridiculous CRTC who have told Canada's History Channel to yank CSI: New York by September 1. The show does not really make sense on the History Channel but I really don't care, they have the right to show whatever they want.

My bigger issue here is that is was on the recommendation of the Executive Director of the Writer's Guild of Canada that the CRTC pulled it. I'm tired of Canadian artists bitching about American cultural imperialism instead of raising their own level of quality and create shows Canadians will watch. It has been done a lot recently with shows such as Trailer Park Boys, Corner Gas and Davinci's Inquest. If you make good shows and movies, people will watch them no matter where they are from.
