Another Bluesfest Come and Gone.

One of the best things about living in Ottawa is the annual Bluesfest. While the headline acts often have very little to do with Blues, I don't begrudge the organizers because they have bills to pay and acts like Nelly Furtado, Live, and Rihanna put asses in the seats.

For Ms. Skeelo and I the fun of the festival is always finding acts we have never heard of or know very little about performing on the side stages. The side stages are usually where the Blues in the Bluesfest can be found. Previous years introduced us to Guy Forsyth and The Sadies, among others. This year was no exception as Natalia Zukerman, Luke Doucet, and Big Sandy and His Fly Rite Boys put on great shows.

If you live in Ottawa or even within a 4 hour drive, buy a weekend pass, bring some sunscreen, rent a hotel room and enjoy a great atmosphere of music and live performances next year.
