Pat Quinn should not have been fired
I am extremely unimpressed that Toronto Maple Leaf GM John Ferguson Jr., who I fear is going to send this franchise back to the Ballard years incompetence, fired Pat Quinn yesterday. Quinn coached this team into the playoffs each year, got them to 100 points a few times, and advanced deeper into the playoffs than anybody thought they would. All without a hell of a lot of real talent. Quinn also had the perfect personality to handle the Toronto media. Yes he should have played the young guys earlier in the season, but he didn't sign Lindros, Allison, and most ridiculously, Belfour to a three year deal. That was Ferguson Jr. If they don't replace Quinn with Paul Maurice I will be even more pissed off.
